Gallery2 is a fully featured web gallery that allows for uploading and managing of picture (and other media) albums on line. Gallery2 also comes featured with plugins that make it simple to upload pictures straight from Windows XP and Vista.
Uploading images from a Windows XP directory
First we have to modify the registry to see your gallery in Windows XP. If you have done this already you can skip this step. On your gallery website select Add Item. Then identify the tab "Windows XP" and click on that. Download and run the .reg file listed under Windows XP.
Now browse to a folder on your computer (such as My Documents) and locate your pictures. Identify on the left of the screen the words Publish this folder to the web. Click on that.
A wizard should pop up. You can click Next to complete the first step. Now on the next window select the pictures for upload.
Now select your gallery.
Enter your user name and password (if required) for your user.
Now select your gallery (or create one anew).
The new screen just has a few options. You can leave all of the default ones checked safely.
The next window allows you to resize the images. You do not have to do this since the gallery will do it automagically.
Next the images will be uploaded. After that you can click Finish and be done.
